That's an awesome moment for Malts, glad you got to see it in person. You're right, that man was born to kill penalties and ate up valuable PK time, allowing our top guns to rest unless it was a 5 on 3 or something. I really missed Malts on the PK after the Olympics and especially during the playoffs. Unfortunately he didn't make it back this season and I'm afraid I may have seen him play his last game in the Winged Wheel... I strongly believe Maltby has some hockey left in him as a 4th liner and penalty killer, but, like you, I don't know if we'll have room for him and that makes me kinda sad. He's a good guy all around and although it will break my heart to see him in another team's logo if he doesn't come back, I hope he gets to finish off his career on his own terms. My Maltby moment would have to be the last game he played this season. The man was on fire and you could tell by the amount of ice time he was getting that Babs agreed, and maybe that he knew it would be the last game of the season for Malts. I can't remember the specifics, but at one point Amanda got so excited over something he did that she screamed out MALT-BY in something close to a fake Swedegian accent (I think we had listened to one of your pronunciation lessons before the game) and I still haven't let her forget it, haha.
haha awesome, and yes that was a nice moment. Didn't he even score?
He did, I think that might have been what led to her yelling MALT-BY if I remember correctly.
