Bob Probert dead at 45

EDIT: Updated with career stats and videos under the picture

Reports from Windsor say that former Red Wing Bob Probert collapsed today when out on a boat, was rushed to the hospital and has now been pronounced dead. He was 45 years old.

I am too young to have experienced him with the Wings, but I have seen the clips and know his legacy. These news sadden me incredibly. Let us all hope that the reports are wrong, but if they are not, let us remember a hell of a hockey player who gave incredibly much to the Red Wings. Rest in peace Bob. You will be missed.

Sadly, the news now seem to have been confirmed. Probie will be missed for sure, both by Red Wings fans and the whole hockey world. He was one of a kind. Among the toughest and best fighters the world ever saw.

Bob Probert played for the Wings from 86-94 and for the Hawks from 95-02. During his NHL career he played 935 games, scored 162 goals, 221 assists for 384 points. He racked up 3300 penalty minutes. In the playoffs he had 81 games, 16 goals, 32 assists, 48 points and 274 PIM.

Let us remember him by watching video:
